This Week’s Case of the Week From 1/19/20:
History: Abdominal pain.
What is the most likely overall diagnosis causing patients symptoms? Pancreatitis
And what are the findings highlighted with the arrow and how does that relate to the primary diagnosis? Areas of low-fat density surrounded by inflammatory changes. These findings are consistent with fat necrosis related to the primary pancreatic inflammation.

History: Right-sided facial swelling
What are the most likely diagnoses?
Right parotid enlargement and inflammation due to obstructing calculi or less likely mumps with incidental bilateral sialoliths. Other less likely possibilities can include Sjogren’s disease, HIV, and lymphoproliferative diseases

History: Abdominal pain.
What are the most likely diagnoses? Infectious or inflammatory right-sided colitis.
What do you need to make sure that the surgeons know? The appendix is normal. No findings to suggest surgical intervention
